EFT Overview

If you read this publication you are probably a searcher. Chances are you’ve thrown loads of time and money at your health or life issues and received very little help. You know intuitively there must be another way, another approach, perhaps a deeper cause that you aren't addressing.

Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT, is a powerful tool that may provide the help you need.  Invented by Stanford engineer Gary Craig and based on impressive new discoveries regarding the body's subtle energies, the technique targets and neutralizes the emotional distress that gets in the way of our lives. With EFT you can reduce the effects of stress, anxiety, anger, panic attacks, phobias, past traumas--and even things like chronic pain or an actual disease process, because it turns out that our emotional state can have a huge effect on our physical body.

The process is usually fast, painless, and permanent. It's not only painless physically, it's painless mentally. You don't have to find out why you've got the problem; you don't have to be brave and “face your fear”; you don't have to cry a river over it. The symptoms just disappear! You do remember that you had a problem, but you usually don't remember why it was such a big deal.

How does EFT work? Probably the closest analogy to EFT is acupuncture, which uses needles to stimulate points on energy meridians, or imaginary lines, along the body for physical healing and pain relief. Traditionally, acupuncture has not been used for emotional or psychological issues. This is where EFT comes in--and the needles leave. EFT uses some of the same points along some of the same meridians. Instead of needles you use your fingers to gently tap and stimulate the points while focusing on a problem. Many issues can be resolved in only one session. You can learn the simple technique for use on yourself anytime, anywhere, so you can take control of your life at any moment.
